This image was made on a very cold winter morning...the temperature was around 4 degrees F. My original idea was to photograph the waterfall upstream with ice formations, but I was unable to isolate a balanced composition there. Walking along the creek on the way back to my car, I noticed this narrow rapid lined with beautiful ice formations. The strong contrast between the creek and ice made this image more successful as a monochrome.
