Overlook along Scenic Highway 7, Ozark National Forest, Arkansas
This scene is actually just off Scenic Highway 7 south of the town of Jasper. Sunrise images are always a gamble. I had to drive two hours to get to this spot before the sun came up and when I arrived, I realized not much was happening in the sky. I decided to wait for the sun to rise a bit and light up the top of the heavy fog bank in the valley below. I liked the way the distant mountains create a diagonal pointing toward the sun in the sky and the overall warm light.
