Bowers Hollow Waterfall

Bowers Falls

Upper Buffalo Wilderness, Buffalo National River, Arkansas

In the Ozarks alone, there are thousands of waterfalls.  In my lifetime, I will never be able to come close to seeing them all.  Having said this, I can't imagine an Arkansas waterfall being more beautiful than Bowers Hollow Waterfall.  These falls are not an easy place to get to though.  Fortunately, after a two hour drive and two mile bushwhack, the overcast sky held steady and I was able to make this photograph.  I liked the way the waterfall looked behind the tree in the foreground and the round turquoise pool at the bottom of the falls.  I hope to get back to this incredible place again in the future to try some different angles.
