White Sands at Sunset
White Sands National Monument, New Mexico
This was a very difficult image to make. It is hard to tell, but the wind was blowing in excess of 40 mph while I was photographing this scene. The haze on the horizon allowed me to shoot straight toward the sun without producing significant flare. I was inspired by the layering effect and pinkish highlights of the distant dunes and mountains.
