TURNER MILL

Eleven Point National Scenic River, Missouri

The unique location of a 25-foot tall overshoot metal wheel placed on Turner Spring in 1915.  This wheel is the last remnant of the mill and Surprise, the small community named by J.L.C. Turner, who said that he named the location after being "surprised" to discover this place with it's spring and potential.  He was also surprised to get a post office comissioned for the town.  This new image was made on April 22, 2015.
